Club History

Founded in 2013 as Blyth Eagles the club began competing in the Newcastle Corinthians 2nd Division, gaining promotion to the 1st Division at the first attempt, a low part to our first competitive season was losing our first fixture 11-0 (against Tyne View) the biggest defeat in the clubs history.

2014/15 saw us consolidate a mid-table position in the 1st division, with nothing to note in any of the cup competitions except recording our biggest win to date in the Start Cup second round, a 9-1 victory over Walkergate reserves.

July 2015, Blyth Eagles became Blyth FC. 2015/16 was a very successful season for the club, we were able to maintain a mid-table position in the 1st Division while reaching our inaugural cup final in the Start Cup (League Cup) eventually finishing runners-ups after a 2-1 final defeat to New York at Grounsell Park. Along with on the field success towards the back end of the season the club took huge strides off it, achieving Charter Standard status and gaining acceptance into the Northern Football Alliance.

Last season saw us complete our first season in the Northern Alliance 2nd Division, finishing a lowly 13th out of 15 teams, reaching the quarter finals of the divisional cup (vs. Killingworth YPC) and losing in the second round of the League Cup to Premier Division side Ponteland United, after receiving a BYE in the first round of the Minor Cup we lost 2-1 to Willington Quay Saints in the second. Upon reflection the club have been able to take many positives from the season with the changing of the setup off the field introducing a new management team with only a handful of games remaining and also the togetherness of the squad at the end of the season despite a poor year for the club on the field.

2017/18 sees a fresh approach to the season, with many new additions to the squad which we hope will have a positive effect on our league and cup performances come the end of May. A special thank you to all of our sponsors for the forthcoming season as we wouldn’t be able to provide football for free without your help.
